Homicide on Bryan Street

UPDATE: March 10, 2021

On March 9, 2021, the Dallas Police Department arrested Charles Parker, a 32-year-old black male, for the murder of Rachel Witcher that occurred earlier that day. Parker was taken to Dallas Police Headquarters where he was interviewed by a Homicide detective. He was subsequently transported to Lew Sterrett Jail and charged with murder, a felony of the first degree. His bond will be determined by a Dallas County Magistrate.

On March 9, 2021, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at 4645 Bryan Street, the Wilshire Apartments. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Rachel Witcher, a 21-year-old white female, with a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. Witnesses reported that the suspect was a black male who fled in a dark-colored 4-door vehicle.

Police arrest man accused of killing 21-year-old woman in Old East Dallas



Authorities arrested a man Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of a 21-year-old woman in Old East Dallas.

Charles Parker, 32, is charged with murder in the slaying of Rachel Witcher. He was booked into the Dallas County jail, where he is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond.

Police found Witcher suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when they responded at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday to the The Wilshire apartments at 4645 Bryan St. She was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
