PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police are on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver accused of crashing into two people in the city’s Olney section. This happened around 9:45 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of F Street and Roosevelt Boulevard.

Police say the man was driving a stolen silver Jeep, when he collided with a BMW, which caused that vehicle to crash into a bicyclist.

A 19-year-old bicyclist suffered severe trauma and was rushed to Temple Hospital after he was knocked off of his bike, following the collision.

Paramedics also took the 48-year-old driver of the BMW to Einstein Medical Center to be checked out.

As police arrived, the suspect abandoned the jeep and ran from the scene.

The suspect is being described as a black male, around 5-foot-8, with a stocky build and was wearing a white shirt with black pants.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS

Woman dragged to death in Long Island hit-and-run, delivery driver arrested
By Kenneth Garger
July 30, 2019 | 12:02am | Updated

A Long Island AutoZone delivery driver was arrested Monday for a hit-and-run that left a 38-year-old woman dead, police said.

Donnell Hicks, 26, of Queens, was driving a 2017 Dodge Ram work van when he struck two pedestrians — Ann Marie Christina and Eric Krems — and kept going as he pulled out of a North Babylon AutoZone on Deer Park Avenue just after 1 p.m., according to Suffolk County police.

Christina, 38, got caught underneath the van and dragged about a half-mile before rolling to the side of the road when Hicks turned right onto Shade Street, police said.

She died at a nearby hospital. Krems, 40, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.

Hicks continued on his route and later returned to work — where he was tracked down by cops about 2 p.m. and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

He’s expected to be arraigned Tuesday at Central Islip’s First District Court.

Ex-Massage Envy worker charged after plowing car into Raleigh business, police say
Updated: Aug 2, 2019 / 04:57 PM EDT

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A former Raleigh Massage Envy worker is now charged after police say she rammed her car into the store last month.

The incident happened on July 17 and the car heavily damaged the store, located at 8357 Creedmoor Road.

Unikia Dene Lee, 29, of Charleston park Drive in Raleigh was charged assault with a deadly weapon – intent to kill.

Lee was arrested Friday and also charged with injury to personal property.

Officials confirmed the person who drove the vehicle into the business is a former employee.

911 calls released by Raleigh police appear to show a manager attempted to talk with an employee but that employee refused and became belligerent.

A 911 caller says the employee pushed a computer off a counter and ransacked the business.

As the employee left the building, coworkers locked the door.

The employee attempted to get back inside but left again once she learned the doors were locked.

The caller said that was when the employee plowed her vehicle into the business.

Real-Life Fantasy Turns Wild With Chase By The Ocean
August 3, 2019 at 11:06 pm

PLAYA DEL REY (CBSLA) — Police pursuits are often described as wild. Saturday’s was wet and wild.

A pursuit of a suspect started in South LA and ended up with the suspect driving on the beach at Playa del Rey. The suspect eventually ditched the vehicle and jumped into the water to try to evade capture.

Police jumped right in after him.

CBS2/KCAL9’s Cristy Fajardo reported from Playa.

This one wasn’t just wild. It was downright bizarre.

Neighbors told her if you’re trying to evade police, this might be the worst place you can come.

On one side of the street, a series of speed bumps and dead ends. On the other, you have sand and beach.

In this case, the suspect chose option number two.

First he drove down a bike path. Then he drove onto the beach with people grabbing children and blankets to get out of his way.

One witness said he heard the suspect yelling at people as he drove by.

Then he drove through crashing waves. After his car got stuck in the sand, he tried to get away by wading into the water.

He then appears to drink a beer and that’s when officers went into the water to drag him out.

The LAPD says the chase started when they tried to pull over the suspect in what they believed was a stolen vehicle.
