Man sexually assaulted 79-year-old woman in Canton, police say

BALTIMORE —

Baltimore City police are asking for the public's help to identify a person of interest in connection with a sexual assault of a 79-year-old woman in Canton.

City police said officers were called around 9:17 a.m. Monday to a health care facility to investigate a reported sexual assault. Police said the woman suffered a broken leg and other injuries.

The victim told investigators that she was walking in the area of Clinton and Elliott streets when a man approached her and asked for help. The victim was lured into a house in the 3200 block of Elliott Street, where she was physically and sexually assaulted, police said.

The person of interest is described as a black man with a slim build who is 30 to 35 years old. He was last seen wearing a black top and a black hat.
