Body identified, cops seek man in recent case of domestic violence
Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:00 am

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Heath Springs man concerning a domestic-violence offense involving a woman whose body was found Tuesday.

Derrick Allen McIlwain, 41, is wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for aggravated domestic violence, according to a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office release.
Kimberly Alger, 36, whose body was discovered outside a vacant Rich Hill home Tuesday, was the victim in the domestic-violence incident a few days earlier, sheriff’s spokesman Doug Barfield said Friday.
Alger’s death is being treated as a homicide, and the investigation is continuing, said Sheriff Barry Faile.
McIlwain, of 930 Dickens Road, Heath Springs, also has an outstanding warrant with the Lancaster Police Department for shoplifting. As recently as April 24, Alger listed the same Dickens Road address, according to public records.
