Updated: Aug 23, 2018 06:04 PM EDT

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) - The man who was arrested in connection with a murder and crime spree in Horry County on Wednesday had 17 charges dismissed in Horry County in July.

According to the Horry County Public Index, James Laverne Bellamy had 17 charges dismissed on July 30. The dismissed charges include: one count of armed robbery, five counts of pointing and presenting a firearm, seven counts of kidnapping, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and two counts of armed robbery. These charges were filed on May 8.

The public index also shows Bellamy pleaded guilty to one count of common law robbery on July 27. Bellamy was sentenced to 95 days and was given credit for time served in North Carolina.

J. Rueben Long Detention Center booking records show Bellamy was released on July 27 and lists his booking date as April 25.

According to Jimmy Richardson, with the 15th Circuit Solicitor's Office, Bellamy was possibly connected to two armed robberies in Horry County in 2015.

There were several witnesses in the robbery, but one became unavailable and another changed their story, Richardson also says. There was no physical evidence or DNA connecting Bellamy to the crimes.

Bellamy also had several charges in North Carolina and spent two years in jail in the state, according to Richardson.

Third suspect charged in 2018 Food Lion murder in Longs

Updated April 12 at 5:20 AM

LONGS, SC (WMBF) A third person has been arrested in connection with an August 2018 murder that happened at a Longs Food Lion.

According to information from the Horry County Police Department, Rodney Gore is charged with accessory before the fact to a felony after witness statements placed Gore at the scene of the incident.

Investigators allege that on Aug. 15, 2018, Gore drove three people armed with guns to the Food Lion located at 110 E. Hwy. 905 in Longs.

The three were dropped off by Gore, and then proceeded to rob and murder 57-year-old Gerard Celentano.

Gore remains in custody at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

The deadly Food Lion robbery was part of a crime spree that swept through the Carolinas on Aug. 15. Authorities were also called after a report of a strong-armed robbery on Fox Bay Road in the Loris area.

Police also responded to the Carolina Inn in the Loris area for a robbery call that same night. The final stop for the suspects, according to police, was at a gas station in Chadbourn, N.C.

Previously, Stephon Miller and James Bellamy were charged in this case.
