Rape suspect gets no bond
Updated: Dec 31, 2018 11:34 AM CST

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) -- A man accused of rape last week in Mobile will stay behind bars. A bond hearing was held Monday morning for 44-year old Che' Marks. A judge ordered him to be held without bond. Friday officers arrested Marks and accused him of raping a woman. Today in court prosecutors claimed he stunned the victim with a taser before the sexual assault.

He's also accused of raping a woman on Christmas Eve.
Marks was ordered to have no contact with the victims.

In court Monday it was revealed Marks was previously convicted of the rape of a juvenile. That verdict was overturned twice and was then turned into an assault case. Marks was sentenced but was paroled after a year.

Mobile man jailed on rape charges 4 months after release on probation
Updated Jan 5

A Mobile man who was recently paroled on a second-degree assault charge was arrested and charged with first-degree rape last week, Mobile police said.

Che’ Marks, 44
, is charged with forcing a woman to have sexual intercourse with him in the early-morning hours of Dec. 28, police said.

About 2:30 p.m. Dec. 28, police responded to a reported rape in the 1300 block of South Ann Street. The victim told police she met Marks at a service station on Saint Stephens Road and exchanged numbers.

She said she later received a text message from Marks telling her to meet at his apartment. Upon arriving there, the victim said Marks assaulted her and pulled her inside. He then forced her to have intercourse, police said.

The victim fled the scene and called police. Officers later found Marks near the area of Interstate 10 and Duval Street. He tried to flee on foot, but was taken into custody.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping, two counts of second-degree assault and attempting to elude, according to court records. He was being held in Mobile County Jail without bond.

Marks was paroled in August 2018 on a second-degree assault charge for which he was sentenced to life in prison.
