AJAX — Two brothers, who live in the north Ajax neighbourhood where multiple carjackings occurred, are now facing a combined 66 charges for these and other violent incidents.
Trenell Ottley, 24, and his brother Trevell Ottley, 21, both of Hesketh Road in Ajax, have been charged in connection with nine incidents, including:
• Seven incidents involving carjacking, attempt carjackings and robberies of people in or near their vehicles in north Ajax, spanning from Oct. 12 to Nov. 16
• The robbery of a taxi driver near Ajax Downs Casino on Nov. 28

A search warrant was executed in Ajax on Nov. 28 and an imitation handgun was seized.
At a press conference held at the Ajax Town hall on Friday, Dec. 1, Detective Sergeant Ryan Connolly said the two suspects were "not known to police prior to this investigation."
The pair were under surveillance by the police when they were arrested following a robbery of a taxi operator on Nov. 28, Connolly added.
Chief Paul Martin said at the press conference, "It was a difficult case and it took time. I want to thank everyone for their patience."
Ajax Mayor Steve Parish noted the carjackings caused "a lot of fear and concern in the community. It was the randomness. The community is feeling much more better, more secure."





Trenell Ottley is facing 34 charges, including: four counts of kidnapping; nine counts of robbery; four counts of disguise with intent; four counts of theft of motor vehicle; assault causing bodily harm; seven counts of possession of weapon dangerous and five counts of using an imitation firearm.
Trevell Ottley is facing 32 charges, including: four counts of kidnapping; eight counts of robbery; three counts of disguise with intent; four counts of theft of motor vehicle; assault causing bodily harm; seven counts of possession of weapon dangerous and five counts of using an imitation Firearm.
The men appeared separately in an Oshawa bail court early Friday afternoon and were remanded in custody. Both are scheduled to have bail hearings next week. The Crown has indicated it will contest their release.
