Trio of corrupt pols may testify against disgraced councilman

There’s a potential rogues’ gallery of witnesses being lined up for this Queens councilman’s trial.

A trio of corrupt politicians may take the stand against disgraced Councilman Ruben Wills when he goes on trial for allegedly stealing $30,000 in taxpayer money and using it on a personal shopping spree, according to new court filings.

Prosecutors and Wills’ defense submitted a list of 86 potential witnesses Tuesday that included felonious former state senators Shirley Huntley, Malcolm Smith and John Sampson — all of whom have been convicted of corruption in various schemes to steal taxpayer money or influence elections.

Wills allegedly skimmed $30,000 from his non-profit New York 4 Life in 2012 and used some of the cash to fund department-store shopping sprees that included a $750 Louis Vuitton purse, according to Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who is bringing the case because it involves a non-profit.

Huntley — for whom Wills was chief of staff before his election to Council in 2010 — was released from a federal halfway house in 2014 after serving 10 months of a one-year sentence for stealing $87,700 from a separate non-profit she ran.

She got the short stint because she turned informant and secretly recorded 10 fellow pols — including Wills, Smith and Sampson — in her home in 2012.

Smith is serving seven years in prison for trying to bribe his way onto the Republican mayoral ticket in 2013.

Sampson is currently serving five years for lying to the FBI about illegally skimming more than $400,000 from foreclosure deals he worked on as a court-appointed referee.

Wills has missed so many court dates since the case began that Justice Ira Margulis threatened him with an arrest warrant in March.
Other witnesses could come from stores where Wills allegedly used the stolen money, including Nordstrom, Macys and Toys-R-Us.
