City schools boss Carmen Fariña revealed a new social-studies curriculum that will include “robust lessons integrating themes of tolerance, civil rights, and equity,” in a letter to teachers and parents Thursday.

Fariña’s missive encouraged them to have “conversations” with kids about the recent spate of cop and race-related violence.

“Educators and parents should also raise these issues with children, taking care to have thoughtful conversations,” the letter read.

But Fariña warned that action can’t be limited to mere chats. “However, as teachers, we must go beyond talking,” she said.

“As painful as these events are, I strongly believe as New York City educators and parents, we have a moral obligation to address the difficult questions about race, violence and guns.”

In offering resources for teachers and parents, Fariña suggested the use of a Southern Poverty Law Center approach called “Perspectives for a Diverse America.”

According to SPLC’s Web site, the program “marries anti-bias social justice with the rigors of the Common Core State Standards.”

The curriculum seeks to have students “understand the multiple facets of their identities, know where those traits come from, and feel comfortable being themselves,” and to reassure kids that “although there are people out there who do bad things, the world is a good place,” the letter reads.
Those who find the truth hateful just hate hearing the truth.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.....on a nigger.

If you're not catching flak, you're not over the target.
