Letitia James subpoenas banks for Trump Organization records
By Mark Moore and Bernadette Hogan
March 12, 2019 | 3:58pm | Updated March 12, 2019 | 7:35pm

State Attorney General Letitia James said she subpoenaed Deutsche Bank and Investors Bank on Monday for records involving President Trump’s failed bid to buy the Buffalo Bills and other business dealings involving the Trump Organization.

A day after issuing the subpoenas, James, who took office in January, lobbied legislators in Albany to loosen the double jeopardy “loophole” that prohibits state prosecutors from bringing similar charges against individuals pardoned from federal charges.

“We do have an agreement in both houses, we anticipate that the bill we be passed in a couple weeks.”

The Deutsche Bank subpoena seeks loan applications, mortgages, lines of credit and other records of financial transactions in connection to the Trump International Hotel in Washington, the Trump National Doral in South Florida and the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago, the New York Times reported on Monday evening.

Investors Bank, which is based in New Jersey, was asked for records connected to Trump Park Avenue.

The AG has also requested records linked to Trump’s attempts to buy the Buffalo Bills in 2014.

The deal fell apart after Terry Pegula, owner of the Buffalo Sabres hockey team, bought the NFL team for $1.4 billion.

James, who campaigned on investigating the president , initiated the civil inquiry after Trump’s former longtime lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen testified to a House panel last month about the president’s financial dealings.

A number of investigations are ongoing into Trump, his businesses, his campaign and his inauguration in Congress and by special counsel Robert Mueller.

Deutsche Bank confirmed to the Times that it had received the subpoena, but Investors Bank refused to comment.

The Trump Organization did not respond to requests for comment from the newspaper.

Snowflake arrested for stealing American flag off of pro-Trump vehicle

A man snatched an American flag off a vehicle in Manhattan festooned with support slogans for President Trump — and was promptly arrested for the theft Sunday, police said.

Jared Handler, 37, grabbed the flag off of Rob Cortis’s vehicle as he was driving near 14th Street and Eighth Avenue at about 6:40 p.m., police said.

Handler then ran toward Union Square with the flag, but was busted by cops not far from the intersection, authorities said.

As the theft unfolded, passersby noticed Cortis’s pro-Trump vehicle and started chanting anti-Trump statements, police sources said.

A few of the pedestrians yelled at Cortis, he told The Post.

“A couple people flipped me off,” Cortis said in a phone call on Sunday. “A couple yelled out ‘F-Trump’ and flipped me off.”

Cortis tours the country in a vehicle he dubbed the “Trump Unity Bridge,” a handmade float emblazoned with pro-Trump slogans and decorations. He’s currently on a “Building the Wall Tour,” according to his website.

“We are stopping in both large cities and small towns across the country delivering a message of Unity while discussing the importance of securing America’s southern border,” Cortis wrote about the tour.

Cortis slammed Handler after the theft , and said he would help police to prosecute him.

“He’s stealing a flag and destroying it,” Cortis told The Post.

“Why would he want to be in our country if he’s stealing a flag and destroying it?” he added.

Handler, of Manhattan, was hit with petit larceny, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property for his stunt.

He was also given a violation for carrying a small amount of marijuana, police said.

He could not immediately be reached for comment.

Suspect in murder of Gambino mob boss unhinged, ran pro-Trump Instagram
By Adam Schrader and Lia Eustachewich

Anthony Comello appears in Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River, NJ, for an extradition hearing. David McGlynn

The construction worker charged in the murder of Gambino godfather Francesco “Franky Boy” Cali seemed unhinged leading up to the brazen hit, friends told The Post on Tuesday.

Anthony Comello — who showed up for his first court appearance Monday with “MAGA forever” and references to the conservative QAnon movement scrawled on his hand — managed the Instagram account “realamericasvoice_” which is filled with anti-Democrat and pro-President Trump posts , said the pals, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

“He had a secret Instagram. He used to post crazy things about politics and Trump and Democrats ,” a source said.

The account kicked off in October with a post about Christine Blasey Ford, the sex-harassment accuser of US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“Horrible how they can try to ruin a man and his family name and it was all fake just to win. I hope you Dems never get power,’’ raged the writer.

Another post was of Trump and Vice President Mike Pence from Jan. 20 with the caption, “This has been the greatest and amazing two years in this great country (THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) for god, for country, for family @realdonaldtrump @vp you rocked the world. We the people are blessed for your SELFLESS PATH FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. THANK YOU.”

The 24-year-old suspect also used the social media platform in his bizarre bid to boot Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo out of office.

“He was on Instagram live in front of the mayor’s house a few weeks ago demanding de Blasio comes outside because he was under citizen’s arrest,” a source said. “He was reaching out to people to sign a petition to get the governor and mayor out of office.”

The source said Comello had been messaging him lately to sign the petition.

“I thought he was whacked out so I didn’t call him,” the person said. “In high school, he was a good kid. He hung out with the wrong crowd and did pills and smoked weed and got into fights, but now it’s like he’s someone else. It’s strange.”

Investigators believe Comello may have whacked Cali because the Mafia kingpin barred Comello from dating Cali’s niece.

It’s unclear whether Comello knew whom he was dealing with, one of his friends said.

“I’m not sure if he knew who Cali was but I know that it was over a girl, and if you ask me, he wasn’t all in the head,” said the person. “And it’s sad, because of who he killed, it’s a matter of time before he’s found dead in jail.”

Comello is expected to be extradited to New York to face charges following his court appearance in New Jersey.

His lawyer, Robert Gottlieb, didn’t return messages.

NYPD, MTA use fake wall to lure in Trump-loving vandal
By Tina Moore
March 19, 2019 | 2:29pm | Updated March 19, 2019 | 4:14pm

The NYPD and MTA knew just the right way to catch a President Trump-loving graffiti artist: They built a wall.

Inventive transit cops and workers set up a plywood “dummy wall” in a Downtown Brooklyn subway station, waited for alleged serial tagger Jamie Montemarano to strike, then leaped out from behind it to arrest him, department transit Chief Edward Delatorre said Tuesday.

“The MTA put up a dummy wall,” Delatorre said in explaining the deep-cover operation in the Borough Hall/Court Street station. “The officers hid behind the wall and when the perp came back, they jumped out and grabbed him.”

Montemarano, 43, had repeatedly used a Sharpie to scrawl “#lovetrump” throughout the station as far back as Feb. 9, leading (((straphangers))) to complain — and authorities to cook up the Trojan Wall ploy.

“The officers who know the station well asked if they could put up a temporary wall, which would create an enclosure or room,” explained Delatorre.

A plywood barrier — similar to the temporary walls erected around subway station areas undergoing construction, down to a padlocked door for worker access — was set up on March 12 near one stairwell by the R-train platform where the graffiti kept appearing, Delatorre said.

Transit cops took turns lying in wait behind the door in their spare time, and hit pay dirt Friday.

“Sure enough, our man came back and put up again ‘#lovetrump,’” said Delatorre. “They [the cops] caught him live, writing on the beam.”

The officers emerged from the built-in door and cuffed Montemarano, Delatorre said.

Montemarano, who had never been arrested before, was slapped with a desk-appearance ticket for graffiti and criminal trespass.
