Bronx prosecutors want to keep an alleged teenage gang-banger from having the latest in his long string of arrests transferred to Family Court — so he can finally be prosecuted as an adult, The Post has learned.

Thai Daniels, who recently turned 17, is charged with committing three robberies in just eight days last month, including one in which court papers say he brandished a box cutter before he and two accomplices beat a victim from whom they stole a wallet, jewelry and a pair of sunglasses.

Daniels, a reputed member of the infamous Mac Baller Brims street gang, has seven prior arrests this year, all of which were handled in Family Court, law-enforcement sources said.

The teen appeared Wednesday in the “Youth Part” of Bronx Supreme Court, where cases are automatically reassigned to Family Court unless there are “aggravating circumstances,” such as the use of a gun, a seriously injured victim or a sex assault, sources said.

But in an unusual move, Assistant District Attorney Amanda Danforth asked for time to prepare paperwork to prevent that from happening, even though the allegations against Daniels wouldn’t normally meet the criteria.

Danforth didn’t say why the teen shouldn’t go to Family Court, but noted that a grand jury last week indicted him on 22 counts – including armed robbery, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property – in two of the three cases pending against him.

Bronx Supreme Court Justice Denis Boyle gave Danforth until Nov. 22 to file a motion.

Daniels’ prior cases that were were transferred to Family Court included four robberies to which he pleaded guilty and was referred to a no-jail program run by the “Esperanza NY” non-profit, sources said.

The taxpayer-funded organization tries to rehabilitate “court-involved youth” by providing up to six months of therapy, 24-7 crisis management and other services, according to its website.

Daniels also has a sealed arrest for riot in 2017 and was shot and wounded in November 2018, sources said.

It’s unclear if he cooperated with police or if anyone was busted in that incident.

Daniels, who’s being held at an unspecified juvenile detention facility on $20,000 bond or $10,000 bail, did not speak in court Wednesday and was handcuffed behind his back for the five-minute hearing.

His defense lawyer, Robyn Goldberg of the Bronx Defenders, and several family members declined to comment afterward.

The Bronx District Attorney’s Office also declined to comment.

Daniels is due back in court on Dec. 5 for a ruling on the prosecution’s request.
Those who find the truth hateful just hate hearing the truth.
