This ex-NFL player’s trash talk sounded more like a thuggish threat against a preteen.

New Jersey youth football coach Charlie Rogers, who played pro football for five years, left a blistering, profanity-laced voicemail on Aug. 25 for the father of an 11-year-old player who was leaving his Matawan American Youth Football team to play for another squad, the Asbury Park Press reported.

“Hey Chris, this is Coach Charlie dog,” he said, according to the 44-second voicemail obtained by the paper. “I’m telling you right now, today in the summertime before we’ve even started a game yet, right, we are going to blitz every f—–g play until your guy come(s) out the game. So don’t bring him to the game.

“You know I’m pissed off about this [expletive] right here.”

Rogers, 42, snarled that the team wouldn’t “give a f–k if we give up a pass or not” and that “that’s a bad f—–g move.”

Chris Schuster, the target of the verbal assault, was stunned and outraged by the message.

“The fact that this is a youth football coach and a paid high school coach makes it that much more disturbing,” the father told the paper.

“These kids don’t wish harm on any other kid. It’s the coach’s views that make this so dangerous,” Schuster said.

Rogers told the paper, “I love all kids. I put my heart and soul into my kids.”

Rogers, 42, who was a paid offensive coordinator at St. John Vianney HS in Holmdel, was fired by the high school in the aftermath of the firestorm.

Rogers spent five years as a return specialist with the Seattle Seahawks, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins from 1999 to 2003.

The Cliffwood, NJ, resident starred at Matawan Regional high School and went to college at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He could not be reached for comment Saturday.

In a game played hours after the firing, St. John Vianney was crushed by Rumson-Fair Haven 43-6.
