Bail-reform poster boy Pedro Hernandez wanted by cops yet again

Bail-reform poster boy Pedro Hernandez is a wanted man once again, this time for allegedly smashing the window of a car he and a pal traded paint with in The Bronx, according to cops and police sources.

Hernandez and an unidentified pal were cruising the Cross Bronx Expressway early May 25 in a rented gray BMW when they got into a fender-bender with a minivan, sources said.

They allegedly tailed the minivan off the highway to the corner of East 175th Street and Walton Avenue, and boxed in the 20-year-old female driver and her three passengers, which included two girls, 12 and 13, cops and sources said.

As the other motorist apparently was trying to make a U-turn away from the ambush, Hernandez’s portly pal lumbered up to the front passenger’s side window, cocked his fist and punched off the side mirror with a single blow, surveillance video of the incident shows.

A man identified by sources as Hernandez then hurls a glass bottle into the same window, shattering it and causing the passenger seated alongside it to recoil in fear, the clip shows.

The duo fled afterward, leaving the victims unharmed, but terrified.

“They blocked the car in and did damage to the car, putting the victim in fear,” said a police source.

The insider added that Hernandez’s attorney said he would turn himself in at the 46th Precinct, but never did — and that his whereabouts are now a mystery.

In a statement to the Post, Hernandez’s attorney Alex Spiro said: “It is unfortunate that each story of a new accusation is never followed up with the far more meaningful story of a new exoneration.”

A request for comment from Hernandez’s lawyer was not immediately returned.

Hernandez, 19, became a popular cause of criminal-justice crusaders in 2016, after spending more than a year on Rikers Island while refusing to take a plea deal for a botched bodega hold-up.

The case was ultimately dropped, but trouble has never been far from Hernandez since.

He’s been arrested at least 15 times in his short life, most recently last month — after the Cross Bronx incident — for allegedly leading Bronx cops on a wild car chase.

Police sources also said on June 17 that Hernandez was wanted for a separate alleged reckless driving incident, but it was not immediately clear whether they ever caught up to him on that case.
