Birmingham police make arrest in cold case murder

The Birmingham police department reported Thursday that an arrest has been made in the 2018 cold case murder of Justin Lett.

Police said after an extensive investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for murder against Cameron Cook, 29, of Birmingham. Cook was already in the Jefferson County Jail on another Capital Murder charge with no bond.



Justin Lett was reported missing by his family on May 12, 2018 after leaving at night out with friend in Five Points South.

On Monday, May 14, Birmingham officers found Justin's body.

He has been shot to death multiple times, according to police.
