Hillary had second secret email address
By Joe Tacopino
May 19, 2015 | 1:19am

A second secret email address used by Hillary Rotten Clinton while she was secretary of state was revealed Monday.

The email address, published by The New York Times, was used in exchanges between Clinton and longtime adviser Sydney Blumenthal, and is from the same private email server that was uncovered earlier this year.

“Fyi. The idea of using private security experts to arm the opposition should be considered,” Clinton wrote Blumenthal from the *email address HRod17@clintonemail.com.

The two were discussing strategies to help the opposition rebels oust Moammar Khadafy in Libya as that country descended into chaos in 2011.

Clinton’s office insisted just two months ago that the only private email address used by the former secretary of state during her tenure was hdr22@clintonemail.com.

In a 2015 letter to Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), Clinton’s lawyer acknowledged that the HRod17 email address existed, but stated explicitly that it was “not an address that existed during Secretary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.”

The time stamps and content of the messages make clear that this statement was inaccurate, according to the Times report.

The first private email use was seen as a breach of protocol. Clinton’s advisers handed over 55,000 pages of emails to the State Department so they could comply with an investigation. But, according to Vice News, those emails will not be made public until 2016.

Clinton admitted to deleting thousands of others, claiming they were personal.

The revelation of a second email address raises questions about Clinton’s transparency and her relationship with Blumenthal.

The longtime Clinton confidant was not working at the State Department at the time, but advising American contractors that sought to do business in war-torn Libya.

In another email after Blumenthal suggested the new Libyan leader, Mohamed Magariaf, would “seek a discrete relationship with Israel,” Clinton wrote to her deputy Jake Sullivan, “If true, this is encouraging. Should consider passing to Israelis,” according to the Times.

Blumenthal’s coordination with Clinton raises the likelihood of additional scrutiny as she runs for the White House.

While he was not given a job in the State Department by the Obama administration, Blumenthal was employed by Bill and Hillary Clinton’s philanthropic organization, the Clinton Foundation, to help with research and “message guidance,” according to the Times.

At the same time, the Times reported, Blumenthal also was helping to craft Hillary’s 2016 presidential campaign message by working as a consultant to Media Matters and American Bridge.

Staff quit Clinton Foundation over Chelsea
By Richard Johnson

Chelsea Clinton is so unpleasant to colleagues, she’s causing high turnover at the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, sources say.

Several top staffers have left the foundation since Chelsea came on board as vice chairman in 2011.

“A lot of people left because she was there. A lot of people left because she didn’t want them there,” an insider told me. “She is very difficult.”

Onetime CEO Bruce Lindsey was pushed upstairs to the position of chairman of the board two years ago, so that Chelsea could bring in her McKinsey colleague Eric Braverman.

“He [Braverman] was her boy, but he tried to hire his own communications professional and actually tried to run the place. He didn’t understand that that wasn’t what he was supposed to be doing,” said my source. “He was pushed out.”

Matt McKenna was Chelsea’s spokesman, and then he wasn’t. Now he works for Uber. Ginny Ehrlich, the founding CEO of the Clinton Health Matters Initiative, now works for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Chelsea has embraced all the trappings of a corporate CEO, with a personal staff almost as big as her father’s. “He has six. She has five,” said my source.

None of this would surprise her former co-workers at McKinsey and NBC News. At both the management consulting firm and the network, co-workers allegedly were told they couldn’t approach Chelsea.

A source at NBC, where Chelsea was paid $600,000 a year, said, “If someone wanted to talk to Chelsea about something, they had to go through a producer.”

For Bill Clinton loyalists who grew the foundation from nothing, the high turnover and the ethical questions over its funding are demoralizing. “It’s sad to see what’s happening. The operational planning has gone downhill,” said a source.

Instead of being something Hillary can point to with pride, the foundation has become a bloated slush fund that some critics say deserves an official investigation. And Chelsea’s fingerprints are all over it.

Artist’s taunt latest blow to Stephanopoulous
By Amanda Lozada and Bruce Golding

An artist publicly shamed embattled ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos Thursday with street posters mocking his financial ties to Hillary Rodman Clinton.

Several placards showing the Democratic presidential hopeful embracing her hubby’s former White House aide were plastered around the Upper West Side — including some within sight of ABC’s Manhattan headquarters.

The black-and-white posters feature photo-realistic images of the pair along with the words “Pay Pal” and “DONATE,” which appears inside an oval that looks like a clickable, Web-site button.

The background is a field of dollar signs.

Stephanopoulous, who is chief anchor of ABC News and also hosts the network’s “This Week” Sunday-morning talk show, sparked outrage last week when he admitted donating $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation.

Critics noted that he grilled the author of the best-selling book “Clinton Cash” — which scrutinizes foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation while Hillary Clinton was US secretary of state — without revealing his conflict of interest.

He twice offered on-air apologies for the ethical lapse, telling his “This Week” audience that the gifts “were a matter of public record, but I should have made additional disclosures on air when we covered the foundation.”

One of the signs spotted Thursday was stuck on a bus-shelter ad showing Stephanopoulos and the rest of the “Good Morning America” crew he leads.

Others were hung from a wire over the intersection outside an ABC studio at Columbus Avenue and West 66th Street, and glued to a green, traffic-signal control box diagonally across from it.

The overhead display didn’t last long, however, with a street vendor hawking baked goods saying he saw a neighborhood clean-up crew pull it down shortly after it went up.

The crew also tried to peel off the two posters on the utility box, but the adhesive proved too strong.

Whoever was behind the stunt may have mistaken the local Eyewitness News studio for the street-level set of “Good Morning America,” which actually is located in Times Square, where none of the posters could be found.

Stephanopolous has so far enjoyed the support of ABC, which said he “admitted to an honest mistake and apologized for that omission.”

“We stand behind him,” the network’s statement added.

Last week, The Post exclusively revealed that ABC was deeply invested in its star newsman, with sources saying he last year scored a seven-year contract extension worth $105 million.

Reps for ABC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign did not return requests for comment.

History bound to repeat itself for Hillary
By Michael Goodwin
May 30, 2015 | 11:51pm

With another shoe dropping in the Hillary Clinton scandal nearly every day, America is witnessing an unprecedented spectacle. Never in modern times has a presidential candidate been so tarnished — and yet also so popular.

Oops, there was one other time. Actually, two. Those were the times when Bill Clinton ran for president.

Like her husband, Hillary’s a human Rorschach test. He captured the White House twice without ever winning a majority of the popular vote, and polls paint an eerily similar challenge for her.

Half the country thinks she is fundamentally dishonest and untrustworthy. The other half is ready to make her president. One recent survey showed her beating each leading Republican rival head-to-head, but never getting to 50 percent.

The here-we-go-again feeling is so distressing that, in addition to worrying about the future, I find myself second-guessing the past. I wonder whether we would be better off if Bill Clinton had been thrown out over Monicagate.

Along with most of the country, I thought the Senate made the right decision in 1999 not to convict him on the House charges of impeachment. I believed a constitutional crisis wasn’t worth the candle, and that the long drama involving Lewinsky, her blue dress, the cigar and the impeachment charges were punishment enough.

Now I’m not so sure. Despite Bill’s apologies at the time, the couple clearly saw his escape as vindication. In hindsight, the experience might have convinced the Clintons that they are bulletproof.

To recap the lowlights, the president of the United States had sex with a young intern in the Oval Office, lied about it to the public and a grand jury — and basically got away with it.

Would conviction have served as a cleansing agent for American public life? Would we even be talking about a President Hillary if President Bill had been perp-walked out of the White House?

The questions matter because history could be repeating itself. Once again, a Clinton running for president is loved for her politics and hated for her ethical depravity in nearly equal measure.

Remember, too, that neither of them ever gave up the grifter habit. On the way out the White House door, they grabbed goodies like thieves in the night.

And the evidence is solid that he sold a pardon to Marc Rich for cash and sold pardons for votes for Hillary’s first Senate race involving crooked New York Hasidim and violent Puerto Rican nationalists.

The Clintons were unchastened then, and 15 years later, they’re still cutting corners and maybe worse. Far from being hobbled by a sordid record that would have ended the career of almost anyone else, they’ve stayed on top and gotten really, really rich at the same time.

The continuing revelations about their foundation, then, amount to much more of the same old, same old. Serving as a tax-free slush fund and a holding pen for their cronies, the sleazy doings add another black mark against her tenure as secretary of state.

The overlap of oligarchs, companies and foreign governments that got help while also contributing millions to the foundation and paying one or both Clintons ungodly sums for personal appearances smells to high heaven. Naturally, they’ll turn to many of the same people to fund her campaign.

All this on top of her use of a private e-mail server, apparently without regard to federal rules or cybersecurity. In her first public admission, she lied several times that we know of, including about how many electronic devices and e-mail addresses she used.

Then there are those tens of thousands of messages she deleted before giving the government the rest, asserting the ones she erased were all about yoga classes and Chelsea’s wedding.

What, you don’t believe her? Then prove her wrong. Of course, you can’t, because she wiped the server “clean,” according to her lawyer.

We’re still 17 months from Election Day, and already Bob Kerrey’s great line comes to mind. The former Nebraska senator and governor once accused fellow Democrat Bill Clinton of being “an uncommonly good liar.”

Hillary is not quite as skilled, but certainly she’s no slouch, as the late William Safire noted when he called her a “congenital liar.”

In short, nothing has changed — except one thing. This time, the world is on fire and the nation is in a deep crisis. And if you can’t trust a Clinton, how can you trust one to save America?

Hillary campaign needs more couches for sleepy volunteers
By Geoff Earle
June 6, 2015 | 12:05am

WASHINGTON — Next time, Hillary Rotten Clinton might want to try locating her campaign headquarters in Newark.

The Clinton campaign is issuing an urgent plea for spare couches so volunteers in its Downtown Brooklyn campaign offices can get some shut-eye without having to shell out for a hotel.

One Pierrepont Plaza is home to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign headquarters.

The cheapest room at the nearby Brooklyn Marriott was going for $329 Friday night.

“Got a spare room (or couch!) that another supporter could sleep on for a few days?” the Clinton campaign Web site asks. “Sign up today and an organizer will be in touch.”

Crashing with supporters is fairly common campaign practice — and one Clinton’s camp is glad to promote as it sheds its 2008 image as a money gusher.

But it still clashes with reports of Clinton’s $30 million income from paid speeches and predictions of record campaign spending on TV ads and consultants.

Campaign official Marlon Marshall promises couch-loaning supporters that volunteers won’t be a burden because “they’ll be working long hours, so they really just need a place to sleep.”

‘Clinton Cash’ author on all the questions Hillary won’t answer
By Peter Schweizer
June 13, 2015 | 1:12pm

‘We need to stop the flow of secret, unaccountable money ,” Hillary Clinton said Saturday during her vaunted campaign “do over.”

That she said this without a trace of irony is no real surprise. Ever since the release of “Clinton Cash” — which documented the Clintons’ love of secret and unaccountable money — the couple’s reaction has been to pretend the scandal has nothing to do with them.

Appearing on CNN, Bill Clinton claims that the millions the Clintons made from speeches paid for by foreign individuals and entities who had business before Hillary’s State Department were innocent and coincidental.

“[Hillary] was pretty busy those years,” Clinton said. “I never saw her study a list of my contributors, and I had no idea who was doing business before the State Department.”

Bill added: “No one has ever asked me for anything…I never thought about whether there was any overlap.”

Besides, as Bill explained, in a Bloomberg interview last week, “Has anybody proved that we did anything objectionable? No.”

Well, there you have it. Everything is on the up-and-up. Americans should just move along.

But they can’t. And they won’t. Not until, that is, Hillary Clinton begins explaining her myriad conflicts of interest in granular detail, especially since there are no e-mails or server to corroborate Bill’s claims of her innocence.

Indeed, save for a generic response to a generic question on the topic, Hillary Clinton has yet to answer a single question about “Clinton Cash.”

For example, Hillary hasn’t explained why her State Department approved the transfer of 20% of US uranium to the Russian government — even as her family foundation hauled in $145 million from investors in the deal, and Bill received $500,000 from a Kremlin-backed bank for a speech in Moscow.

Hillary has yet to explain why there was no conflict of interest in allowing top investors in the Keystone XL pipeline to pay her husband $1.8 million to deliver 10 speeches, even as she quietly shepherded an environmental impact study through her State Department that proved largely supportive of the pipeline.

Hillary delivered eight speeches totaling $1.6 million in speaking fees paid for by two of the largest banks tied to the Keystone XL pipeline.

Nor has Hillary explained why she violated the memorandum of understanding she signed with the Obama administration promising to disclose all donors, including the foreign head of the Russian government’s Uranium One, Ian Telfer, who funneled four donations totaling $2.35 million to the Clinton Foundation that were never revealed.

Or the 2 million shares of stock foreign mining magnate Stephen Dattels gave the Clinton Foundation, even as Hillary’s State Department allowed “open pit coal mining” in Bangladesh, where Dattels’ Polo Resources had a stake.

As Sunlight Foundation senior fellow Bill Allison told The Post, “It seems like the Clinton Foundation operates as a slush fund for the Clintons.”

Still, Bill Clinton assures us there’s nothing to see here.

Thankfully, so far investigative reporters aren’t listening. Indeed, in the wake of “Clinton Cash”’s publication, as Hillary’s silence has grown, so, too, has the number of reporters building on and and expanding the book’s findings.

Bloomberg and the Washington Post, for example, drilled down and discovered an additional 1,100 hidden foreign Clinton Foundation donations. Since the revelation, the Foundation has only released 24 of the secret foreign donors. When will Americans see the remaining 1,076 names? Hillary hasn’t said.

And thanks to the Huffington Post, we now know that in 2014 and 2015, Hillary delivered eight speeches totaling $1.6 million in speaking fees paid for by two of the largest banks tied to the Keystone XL pipeline.

That’s in addition to the $1.8 million Bill bagged for the 10 Keystone investor-funded speeches he delivered during Hillary’s tenure as Secretary of State.

Perhaps this helps explain Hillary’s reticence over the last few years to express opposition to the pipeline, much to *environmentalists’ chagrin.

We now know 181 Clinton Foundation donors lobbied Hillary’s State Department; that the Clintons’ family foundation received millions from Qatar, as well as donations from FIFA, the soccer organization now enmeshed in a bribery and corruption scandal of global proportions; that the Clintons have a secret “pass-through” company, WJC, LLC.; that Hillary’s State Department “approved $165 billion worth of commercial arms sales to 20 nations whose governments have given money to the Clinton Foundation,” according to the International Business Times analysis.

On and on it goes. There have been enough post-book revelations to fill a second volume, or a third.

The surge in new revelations is an encouraging reinvigoration of investigative journalism, one that is refreshingly responsive to the public’s hunger for greater transparency and accountability from elected leaders.

As Bob Woodward recently put it, “You should insist that the sleeping giant, which is both the country and the media, wake up. The result could be, if you are persistent, that we have a kind of ‘Unrestricted Investigative Warfare’ as the news organizations, the giants, the little people, left, right and center compete to follow the money and explain its corruptions and ramifications.”

To all of these revelations, the Clinton response has been to ignore, deflect, or try to discredit me. George Stephanopoulos tried to suggest I was partisan (how’d that work out?) while sympathizers have been reduced to arguing that well, it’s not technically illegal.

But even as Hillary Clinton tries to wipe the slate clean and start her campaign over, these questions will dog her from now until election. She can’t dodge them forever.

Crowds gather for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign kickoff rally
By Associated Press
June 13, 2015 | 12:01pm

NEW YORK — Hillary Rodham Clinton is calling for a new era of shared prosperity and says workers can trust her to fight for them, themes outlined in a speech promoted as her formal presidential campaign debut.

At an outdoor rally Saturday on New York City’s Roosevelt Island, Clinton planned to portray herself as a fierce advocate for those left behind after the recession.

She intended to describe a lifetime of work on behalf of struggling families and cite her mother’s difficult childhood as the inspiration for what she considers a calling.

Her campaign said that “tenacious fighter” message will be the foundation of her 2016 White House race.

By contrast, she has kept silent so far on several contentious issues, including two seen by Republicans as central to economic growth: a proposed trade deal with Pacific Rim nations and the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to Texas.

Eager and excited Democrats began assembling hours before Clinton’s first major speech of her second White House campaign.

Hillary supporters arrive on Roosevelt Island.

Marc Markley of New York said he showed up at 2:30 a.m. and waited in the dark for the gates to open, with only a police officer for company.

“I was about to fall asleep earlier, but now it’s totally worth it,” he said. “I can’t wait to get inside.”

Clinton was to speak just before noon.

Those arriving were greeted by campaign manager Robby Mook, who took an all-hands-on-deck approach to the event by hawking merchandise — a role typically assigned to a low-level staffer or volunteer.

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our rally today,” Mook called out to the crowd filtering into Four Freedoms park, before directing them to a table selling campaign T-shirts and other campaign-branded gear. “Thanks for being here — and buy some products.”

Long one of the most divisive figures in U.S. politics, Clinton wanted to use the speech to present herself on her own terms and turn her history into a strength.

She lost the 2008 nomination to then-Sen. Barack Obama.

Her campaign released a video on Friday detailing her four decades in public service, starting with her work as a young lawyer at the Children’s Defense Fund.

After the Saturday speech, Clinton planned to visit early-voting states, with events focused on her relationship with her mother and her father’s background as a veteran and small businessman.

“You have to get up off the floor and you keep fighting,” Clinton says in the video, discussing her failed 1993 attempt to overhaul the nation’s health care system during the administration of her husband, President Bill Clinton. “Everyday Americans need a champion.”

Clinton has spoken out strongly on immigration and other issues important to parts of the Democratic base.

But she has been reticent on other policy questions that have divided the party, among them a trade deal with Pacific Rim nations.

Obama backs it. Organized labor, liberals and others say it would cost U.S. jobs.

On Friday, dozens of union-backed House Democrats voted down a critical part of Obama’s trade agenda, negotiating authority that would let him propose trade agreements that Congress could accept or reject, but not amend.

Clinton did not intend to offer specific policy proposals in her speech. Aides said that would come in the following weeks on issues that include college affordability, jobs and the economy.

Clinton was expected to be joined by her husband and daughter Chelsea at the rally.

It would be the first time the family had been seen together in public since Clinton began her campaign in April.

Hillary’s flunkies rope off reporters at parade
By Aaron Short
July 5, 2015 | 7:56am

Maybe next she’ll have them hogtied.

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s flunkies used a rope to corral the press walking with her Saturday in a July Fourth parade in Gorham, NH.

Photos of her campaign staff roping in the journalists showed up on Twitter. Campaign staffers told a CNN reporter the rope was meant to ensure Gorham’s 2,800 citizens had a clear view of the candidate.

“Let’s not get tied up in knots,” a Clinton flack said.

New Hampshire Republicans lashed out at Clinton’s clumsy media management.

“Hillary Clinton continues to demonstrate her obvious contempt and disdain for the Granite State’s style of grass-roots campaigning,” said state Republican Chair Jennifer Horn.

Clinton Returns Contribution From Pa. Mayor Questioned by FBI
Updated at 6:03 PM EDT on Thursday, Jul 16, 2015

Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign has returned a contribution from a Pennsylvania mayor after the FBI questioned him and searched city offices.

The Morning Call reports Hillary for America returned the $1,000 contribution to Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski's committee on July 8.

FBI agents searched Allentown City Hall on July 2 and seized documents pertaining to that city's contract review and bidding process.

They searched Reading's city hall for similar material a week later.

Friends of Ed Pawlowski made the contribution to Clinton's campaign on May 5.

Pawlowski, a Democrat, suspended his U.S. Senate campaign after the search, saying he wanted to focus on assisting in federal investigation.

He said the campaign would be re-evaluated "once we have a more clear picture of any potential concerns with Allentown's government."
