LAUREL, Md. —Howard County police are searching for a man in connection with a double shooting at a Laurel motel in which a woman died.

Kenneth Frizzell Diggs Jr., 47, is wanted on murder, attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, burglary and firearms charges, county police said Wednesday.

The charges stem from a shooting Saturday at the Turf Motel. Amanda Duer, 29, of La Plata, was taken to Laurel Regional Hospital, where she died. Derick Henderson, 33, of Washington, D.C., was taken to Shock Trauma, where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the leg.

Investigators said they believe Diggs and the victims knew each other and were involved in a dispute. Police said witness told officers that Diggs entered the doorway of the victims' motel room and fired at both of the victims.
