FLINT, MI -- A Mt. Morris Township man will spend the rest of his life in prison after he was sentenced Tuesday for killing three people and then setting a home on fire.

Tyree Jamaul Culberson, 26
, was ordered to serve the rest of his life in prison without the chance of parole by Genesee Circuit Judge Geoffrey L. Neithercut on May 15.

Jurors found Culberson guilty last month on three counts of first-degree premeditated murder for the shooting death of John Naum, Kenneth Curler and Tiff Loisell.

The trio was killed in December 2016 in Flint.

"It was a heinous crime and he got a severe sentence as required by law," said Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton.

Culberson also was convicted of first-degree arson and various other weapons and drug charges in connection with the deaths.

Flint firefighters and police responded to a fire around 10:30 a.m. Dec. 17, 2016, in the 2600 block of Woodrow Avenue, near Dort Highway, and located three people inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds.

Naum and Curler died at the scene, while Loisell died the next day, police previously said.
