Cop arrested for assault after pushing girlfriend against wall By Tina Moore May 15, 2017 | 6:18pm An NYPD officer was arrested for domestic-violence charges in Washington, DC — during the annual Police Week, cops said Monday. Christopher Rivera, 34, was charged with simple assault for grabbing his girlfriend around the neck and pushing her against the wall around 4 a.m. Sunday, DC police said. Officers responded to a call for a domestic-violence assault at 736 6th St. NW and arrested Rivera, who is with the NYPD’s Highway Patrol unit, for assaulting his girlfriend, cops said. He was immediately suspended, a NYPD source said. “Officer located and interviewed (the victim) who stated that her boyfriend had grabbed her around her neck and pushed her against a wall,” a police report shows. Rivera was arrested for simple assault/domestic violence, cops said.
