Default Meiners Oaks, CA WM, 22 (wigger?) sledgehammed to death by mulatto roommate, body not found

Meiners Oaks man charged with murder in roommate's killing; victim's body not found
Updated 2:27 p.m. PT May 15, 2019

A Meiners Oaks man appeared in court Tuesday to face a murder charge as detectives continued to search for the body of the roommate he’s accused of killing with a sledgehammer.

Cameron Lykins, 23, is accused of first-degree murder and a special allegation that he used a sledgehammer in the killing of Houston Auer, 22, according to Stacy Ratner, a supervising attorney in the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

Auer’s body has not been found
— only the bloody crime scene where Ventura County sheriff’s deputies suspect the killing occurred. Ratner, however, does not think the lack of a body could hinder the prosecution.

“In this case, I don’t believe it’s a cause for concern,” Ratner said. She would not comment on whether the alleged murder weapon has been found.

Lykins was on probation in a battery case. He pleaded guilty in March 2018 to felony battery with serious bodily injury in connection with an incident on Sept. 28, 2017, according to court records.

Records show Auer and Lykins were named on the criminal complaint filed in the 2017 case. Auer was charged with misdemeanor battery in connection with the incident and pleaded guilty to the offense, records show.

The pair were also charged with throwing water at a vehicle, a misdemeanor, but the offense was dismissed when they took a plea agreement with prosecutors on March 29, 2018, records show. Hatlee said the incident was reported in Ojai.

Auer was ordered to spend 13 days in county jail and got credit for already serving that time. He was sentenced to three years of conditional revocable release and ordered to stay away from the alleged victim in the 2017 incident, according to court records.

In April 2018, Lykins was sentenced to 120 days in jail and three years of probation. He was ordered not to use any force or violence on the victim in the 2017 case. The court also ordered him not to associate with Auer, records show.
