Baltimore police identify man killed after allegedly opening fire on police officers, striking one Nov 10, 2020 at 3:28 PM ![]() Baltimore Police said that a 25-year-old man who was killed after allegedly opening fire on plainclothes officers Monday morning was not the person the officers were in the area searching for at the time. Rodney Eubanks was shot and killed after police returned fire. Police identified the detective who was shot in the leg and fired back as Det. Brandon Bolt, a member of the department since 2013. Police were unable to shed light on the seemingly unprovoked attack, but confirmed a detail that could offer a possible clue: Eubanks' older brother, Antonio, had been gunned down in broad daylight at the same intersection just two weeks earlier. ![]() Police said two detectives assigned to the Warrant Apprehension Task Force were sitting in an unmarked van in the 3200 block of Westwood Ave. around 9:45 a.m. when they say Eubanks drove by, stopped, got out of his car and began firing. Bolt was struck in the upper thigh and returned fire, police said. Eubanks was pronounced dead at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center at 10:15 a.m. Bolt was treated and released. The shooting is being investigated by the Special Investigation Response Team, as well as the homicide unit. Baltimore police spokesman Donny Moses said the officers were wearing body cameras, but that they were not turned on at the time. https://gunmemorial.org/2020/10/26/antonio-eubanks Antonio Eubanks, age 37 ![]() ![]() |
