Pedro Hernandez's case to be dismissed — if he goes to college

He’s giving it the old college try.

Bail reform poster boy Pedro "Cymbal Monkey" Hernandez will walk on his 2015 armed-robbery charge — if he can get through a semester of college, prosecutors announced today.

“Today we offered to dismiss the two cases against Pedro Hernandez. He has told the court he has been accepted by a college. Under the unique circumstances, the cases have been adjourned until May 2019. If Mr. Hernandez enrolls in a college in January 2019, completes the semester, and provides proof, we will move to dismiss both cases,” Bronx DA Darcel Clark said in a statement.

“We believe this disposition will give Mr. Hernandez the opportunity to put his life on the right path to succeed. Now it is up to him.”

There is no grade-point-average minimum, according to prosecutors.

Hernandez’s lawyer Alex Spiro would not say what college he has enrolled in, but Hernandez indicated he is still looking and considering either Babson College in Massachusetts or a CUNY school, where he wants to study business and business management.

Hernandez, who is accused of a strong-armed robbery in the Bronx, maintained his innocence after the deal.

“I didn’t get to prove it to them in a trial but I am going to prove it to them by going to school and show them my transcript and show them that I’m ready to move on with my life.”

Hernandez completed high school and took the SAT while in Rikers, according to reports.

He famously refused to take a plea deal in a separate case where he was accused of shooting a kid in a botched 2015 bodega robbery — forcing him to remain in Rikers for two years until he was bailed by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights group. That case was ultimately dismissed.
Those who find the truth hateful just hate hearing the truth.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.....on a nigger.

If you're not catching flak, you're not over the target.
