Default Police Release Surveillance Video Of Suspect Wanted In Shooting Death Of Woman In North Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police have released new information, including surveillance video, in the shooting death of a woman waiting for a SEPTA bus Tuesday morning.

Chilling video released by Philadelphia Police shows the killer of 56-year-old Kim Jones approaching the unsuspecting victim as she stands at a bus stop near her home at 12th and Jefferson Streets Tuesday morning.

Moments later, after shooting Jones “execution style” in the back of her head, the killer is seen calmly walking away and boarding a northbound Broad Street Subway train, exiting at the Hunting Park Station where the trail ends.

Captain James Clark, homicide unit commander, says video also shows the unidentified killer laying in wait across the street from Jones’ house for more than an hour before the shooting.

Captain Clark says the suspect, who he dubbed “predator”, carefully planned the murder, referring to it as a “hit”.

Throughout the video, the Captain explained, the killer always keeps his face entirely covered, even making sure he lowers his head as he passes surveillance cameras.

Rev. Dr. Renee McKenzie-Hayward, pastor of the Church of the Advocate, says church members, friends and family are feeling the loss of Jones who, as a social worker devoted her life to children, and who launched an after-school meal program at the church for boys and girls who knew her as “Miss Kim”.

The Pastor, family members and police are asking anyone with information to call immediately.
