Two charged, victim identified in deadly Cordova shooting

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — A man was shot and killed Saturday in Cordova, and two men were charged in his death.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office said deputies were on the scene of the shooting in the 6900 block of Lagrange Circle South around 8:30 p.m.

One person was shot at the scene and taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. Around 10 p.m., the sheriff's office said the person died from injuries at the hospital.

Sunday, Shelby County authorities identified the victim as Kaleb Wakefield, 26.

Chauncy Black, 18, and Timothy Black, 20, were charged. Jail information lists the charges for both men as reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence.
