Frantz Petion

An FDNY EMT has been arrested for choking and raping a 10-year-old girl, cops said.

Frantz Petion was busted Sunday afternoon on the heinous charges.

The 25-year-old was hit with charges of rape, strangulation, and acting in a manner injurious to a child, according to police.

The young victim knew her assailant, law enforcement sources said.

Petion, who was off-duty when he was arrested, was awaiting arraignment.

More details about the sex attack were not immediately available.

Disturbing details have emerged surrounding the alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl at the hands of an off-duty FDNY EMT — including how he snuck into the child’s attic bedroom and assaulted her while she was sleeping, officials said.

Frantz Petion, 25, is accused of attacking the victim at a birthday party in Queens on Saturday night.

He was arraigned Monday on charges of first-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.

Afterwards, prosecutors sent out a press release — outlining his alleged depravity.

“Petion, who was a guest at a birthday party on Saturday evening, entered an attic bedroom where the 10-year-old victim was sleeping and allegedly held her by her neck and forcibly sexually assaulted her,” the release said. “When the victim began to yell, Petion allegedly put his hand over her mouth and stated that if she continued to yell he would hit her. Moments later, a family friend came to the room to check on the victim, heard a male voice and then forced open the locked door to find the defendant next to the partially clothed victim.”

Petion’s family, however, claims it was he who was the victim — and that he was simply checking up on the girl that night.

“According to him, he was downstairs with his friends and he went upstairs to the bathroom and he said he heard somebody crying in a darkened room,” the EMT’s aunt, Diane Duncan, told reporters Sunday. “All I know is they busted in on him, busting in the room saying, ‘What you doing to her?’ and then they beat on him.”

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown insists, though, that they have the right guy.

“The defendant, who attended a birthday celebration while off-duty, is alleged to have turned it into a nightmare for this 10-year-old girl and her family,” Brown said. “He will be vigorously prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
