UPDATE: Kansas City police release photo of 'person of interest' in gas station homicide

Police are on scene of a fatal shooting outside a gas station at 2711 Indiana in Kansas City.

The shooting happened around 3:15 p.m.

The victim is only described as a white male in his 30s. He suffered multiple gunshots to his chest.

On Monday evening, Kansas City police released a photo of a person of interest in the case.

Moments before he was gunned down, the victim outside a Kansas City convenience store argued and shoved his alleged assailant, shouting, “Shoot me!” according to charges filed Wednesday.

Kameron L. Gines, 23, of Kansas City, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

According to court documents:

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was shot three times at close range after he had become involved in an altercation with Gines and two other people who had stopped at the Good Trip convenience store at 27th Street and Indiana Avenue Monday afternoon.
