Rick Blood

A New Jersey politician was forced to resign after he compared immigrants to “raccoons” and President Trump to an exterminator.

Rick Blood — the deputy mayor of Mendham Township — apologized on Monday and left his position in disgrace after outcry over a “raccoon story” that he posted on social media, according to The Washington Post.

Blood, a Republican, claims he did not write the now-deleted post. The screed compared immigrants to “Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons” that have infested one’s home. :D

“You call the city, 4 different exterminators, but nobody can handle the job. But there is this one guy and he guarantees to get rid of them, so you hire him,” he wrote.

“Here’s why we want Trump.. I feel this is why thousands of people who haven’t voted in 25 years are getting involved. The raccoons have got to go.”

Blood tried to contain the damage by claiming his position is simply that “immigration needs to be fixed” — but he eventually succumbed to the public demands for his ouster.

“If it’s the wish of this board that I resign, I will — I will do it,” Blood said during a public meeting Monday.

“I’m sorry about it. It was insensitive at best, and it was cruel at worst.”
