A masseur at a Massage Envy location in Northwest D.C. tried to sexually abuse a woman, was allowed to stay on the job and then did sexually abuse a woman three weeks later, police say.

Days after a woman told police that the massage therapist at a franchise of the popular national chain sexually assaulted her, a second alleged victim came forward, court documents show.

Habtamu Gebreselassie, 24, of Silver Spring, Maryland, is now accused of attempting to sexually abuse a 66-year-old woman on Aug. 28 at the Tenleytown location on the 4900 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW.

On Monday, News4 reported Gebreselassie was accused of assaulting another woman at the same location on Sunday, Sept. 17, nearly three weeks later.
Management wrote a report, gave Gebreselassie additional training and allowed him to stay on the job, a D.C. detective testified.

Diane Kelley, a co-owner of the Tenleytown franchise, refused to answer News4's questions on Thursday. Asked repeatedly why she allowed Gebreselassie to keep working, she hung up the phone.

A corporate spokesperson for Massage Envy said they could not comment on the franchise's "confidential employment matters."

4th victim alleges being sexually assaulted by massage therapist at Md. Massage Envy

A fourth victim came forward to police on Oct. 1 and alleged being sexually assaulted by a massage therapist inside a Massage Envy in Lanham, Maryland.

According to police, the unidentified person reports the incident occurred on June 17 at the Woodmore Town Center location in Lanham.

Three women previously came forward and told authorities they were sexually assaulted by Habtamu Gebreslassie.

Gebreslassie, 24, a massage therapist at the Massage Envy in Tenleytown in Northwest Washington was charged with first-degree sexual abuse of a patient or client.

Police said the first woman told them she was getting a message at the parlor when she said Gebreslassie performed oral sex against her will on Sept. 17.

On Sept. 20, a second woman told authorities that while Gebreslassie gave her a massage at the spa, he put his face near her vaginal area and touched her beyond the bikini line against her will.

The third woman accused Gebreslassie of assault during a massage on June 17 at Deluca Massage located at 2028 P Street in Northwest Washington.

Investigators said she was getting a massage from Gebreslassie when he "touched her inner thigh around her groin area without her permission and against her will."

Police said one of the victims was 66 years old.

A $25 million lawsuit was filed against Massage Envy last week accusing the company of covering up the alleged sexual assaults.
