Silence is golden, especially when the police are involved — and you aren’t the target.

Former Miami Dolphins safety Louis Delmas mouthed off to authorities early Monday morning after cops pulled over pal Andry Madrigal for going 70 mph in a 40 zone. Delmas, who was riding in the passenger seat, screamed at cops as Madrigal participated in a field sobriety test.

While Madrigal was arrested for a DUI — attaining a 0.164 blood alcohol level on a breath test — and driving with a suspended license, Delmas earned himself a mug shot too after police repeatedly told him to stop arguing.

Delmas, 29, was arrested for resisting arrest without violence and a municipal ordinance violation, according to the Miami Herald. He later posted the $500 bond.

Drafted in the second round by the Detroit Lions in 2009, Delmas lasted five seasons with the team before signing with the Dolphins in 2014. He played in 13 games before going down with a torn knee ligament. Delmas suffered a similar injury during training camp in 2015. He remains a free agent.
