BROCKTON After a five-day trial, a Plymouth County Superior Court jury deliberated just three hours Friday before convicting a Quincy man for the 2013 killing of a Brockton man.

Linanel Brown-Madison, 25, was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the death of 21-year-old Joshua LeClair of Brockton, along with one count each of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a loaded firearm.

Judge Richard Chin sentenced Brown-Madison to serve 12-15 years in State Prison on the Voluntary Manslaughter charge and 4-5 years in State Prison concurrent for Carrying a Firearm. Brown-Madison was also sentenced to serve 2 years in the house of corrections concurrent for carrying a loaded firearm.

The jury found Brown-Madison not guilty of two counts of attempted armed robbery.

LeClair was shot on Jan. 30, 2013, near 12 Auburn St. The incident occurred about 10:26 p.m. A woman called police when she heard a gunshot and saw a man lying in the road. LeClair died the following week at a Boston hospital.
