A departmental hearing to determine the fate of the police officer who fatally shot Ramarley Graham concluded on Monday afternoon.

An attorney for the officer, Richard Haste, called the cop a “hero” in his closing statement while Graham’s family called for Haste’s immediate dismissal.

Haste barged into the 18-year-old’s apartment and shot him dead in the bathroom during the 2012 incident.

Stuart London, the defense lawyer for Haste asserted that the hearing itself “demonstrates a lack of understanding of the difficulty of police work.”

“Does anyone really remember all of the details from a class at the academy?” London argued.

Prosecutor Nancy Slater cited conflicting statements made by Haste in the years since the fatal shooting.

“After all these years, he still doesn’t get it. He still doesn’t think he did anything wrong ,” she said.

After the hearing, Graham’s mother Constance Malcolm pleaded directly to the police commissioner and mayor.

“Don’t let another mom or dad stand here again, asking for justice for another black boy or girl,” the bigot mother said.

The NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Trials Rosemarie Maldonado will review the evidence and make a determination in the coming weeks.

Her recommendation will be turned over to Police Commissioner James O’Neill who will make the final decision regarding the fate of Haste’s career.
