Robeson County, N.C. (WPDE) — Zabiane Laquris Williams, 19, is charged with first degree murder, first degree rape, first degree arson, first degree burglary and felonious larceny in the 2015 murder of 68-year-old Patricia Dawn Hill, according to Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey.

Sealey said back in May evidence led to a suspect who was identified as Williams.

He added at the time Williams lived on Stackhouse Road in Fairmont with family.

Williams was located back in June 2016 at a state prison in South Carolina and Homicide and Major Crimes Detectives went to Trenton Correctional and talked with Williams, according to Sealey.

Williams was released from prison Thursday, and turned over to Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division.

He was arrested and placed in the Robeson County Detention Center where he's being held without bond.

His first court appearance was Friday in Lumberton District Court.

Hill died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head and suffered extensive burns to her body, according to a medical report from the N.C. State Office of Chief Medical Examiner.

She was found dead inside a home on Happy Hill Road in the Fairmont community of Robeson County on August 24 of 2015.

The autopsy report says Hill suffered extensive charring to 70 percent of total body surface area with a concentration on head and extremities, along with first-degree burns of the torso.

Hill's death shocked many in the community and some are baffled as to who would want her dead.
