Authorities have identified the man shot and killed Monday afternoon at the Burnsville Dollar Tree. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 69-year-old Donald Hortsch of Rosemount.

Hortsch died of a gunshot wound to the head. Initial reports indicate Hortsch was a customer at the Dollar Tree.

The Dakota County Attorney's Office expects to file charges against the alleged shooter, 27-year-old Grant Hendrickson of South St. Paul, by Wednesday afternoon.

Burnsville police say about 12:15 p.m. Hendrickson shot Hortsch and another person inside the store. The second victim remains hospitalized, but is expected to survive. That person, who has not been identified, is believed to be an acquaintance of a store employee.
