Police are searching for a 19-year-old man who was handcuffed when he escaped custody during a car stop in the Bronx Monday night, authorities said.

Narciso Rosario ran away with his hands bound behind his back as officers tried to restrain his 26-year-old pal around 9:30 p.m. near East 178 Street and Hughes Avenue in Tremont.

The cops saw the men sitting in a car that was parked in front of a fire hydrant and approached to see what was going on. When they looked in the window, the officers saw drugs sitting out in plain sight, police said.

The officers managed to successfully cuff Rosario but struggled to restrain the other man, identified as Jose Sanchez.

Rosario then ran away from the scene as the officers were preoccupied and disappeared.

He is described as being around 6-feet-tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a black baseball cap, dark colored jeans and multi-colored sneakers, police said.

Sanchez was charged with possession of a controlled substance, attempted escape, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, disorderly conduct and possession of stolen property. He was also charged with false impersonation for giving a fake name to cops during the arrest process.
