A South Street Seaport hot-dog vendor was beaten and robbed by another vendor Saturday morning in what witnesses suspect may have been a territorial beef.

Mahmoud Metwali, 30, was punched in the face, kicked in the leg and robbed of $600 during the vicious attack at South and John streets at 9 a.m., according to cops.

He was treated at New York-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital for minor injuries, police said. The suspect remains at large.

A city worker said the fighting started Friday and escalated Saturday. “Both of them have food carts. They’ve worked together a long time,” he said

A security guard who works nearby added, “Lately, the guys have been arguing in their own language.”

The guard noted there was only one hot-dog cart at the location Saturday morning as opposed to the usual four or five.

Amed Zaytoun, Metwali’s business partner, said two men took the victim’s sales permits and cash and drove off in a white Honda.

Zaytoun said he started having problems a month ago with two or three men who ordered him out of the area.
