SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —A 16-year-old is wanted for murder after he fatally shot a 20-year-old man in the back during a robbery, according to Spartanburg County deputies.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said Thompson Kotlarich Demas, 20, was shot in the back Saturday morning.

Clevenger said he was called just before 4 a.m. to a home on East Killarney Lake Road in Moore where Demas' body was found.

Demas lived with his mother, Clevenger said.

According to an incident report, Keshawn Melvin Rice, 16, and three other teens went to Demas’ home to rob him. The report said that Rice shot Demas inside an attached garage.

Rice is charged with murder and armed robbery, deputies said. They said that he is not in custody.

The incident report said that Kameron Tyjai Wilson, 16, drove the teens to the home. He is charged, as an adult, with armed robbery.

Elian Nava, 16, is also charged, as an adult, with armed robbery.

Deputies said they believe that a fourth juvenile was also involved in the robbery, but have not identified him.
