Woman shocked when escaping alleged attacker; causes 8,000 power outages
THV11 Digital , KTHV 3:20 PM. EDT October 04, 2016

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Around 8,000 Entergy customers were without power Tuesday morning, and police said it was due to a 24-year-old woman escaping an alleged attack and being shocked on a power tower.

According to a Little Rock police narrative, a woman told police she had walked to Walmart on Kanis Road around 3 a.m. to use a phone to call her boyfriend for a ride. An employee of the store then agreed to give her a ride, and shortly after he began driving, he pointed a semi-automatic pistol at her head and told her that if she didn’t perform oral sex on him, he would kill her.

The victim told police that she had been given rides from him before, but she did not know his name. He is described to have been driving a gold Toyota Camry or Corolla.

According to the police report, the woman fled the car at a traffic light and ran toward the nearby power station where she climbed the fence and barbed wire.

The victim said that once she was over the fence, she climbed the tower and was shocked and then thrown from the tower. She was then able to run to a nearby McDonalds to seek help.

She has been transferred to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital burn unit for treatment. If you have any information on this incident, you’re asked to contact police.

Entergy officials released the following statement Tuesday morning:

About 8,000 customers in west Little Rock lost power at 3:30 this morning. The outage was the result of an unauthorized person entering the substation on Kanis Road near Chenal Parkway and making contact with energized equipment. One person was injured in the substation and was transported to a local hospital. Technicians repaired the damage and had all customers back on by 9:30 a.m. We are working with local law enforcement on the case. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The suspect is described as a black male and was last seen wearing khaki pants and a Walmart t-shirt. Police did make contact with the Walmart manager, attempting to locate anyone fitting this description; however, staff did not know how to operate the security cameras. The suspect was also reportedly driving a Toyota Camry or Corolla.

LITTLE ROCK -- She added that she met the suspect while she was at Walmart and asked for a ride; apparently she had gotten rides from him in the past but didn't know his name. The two began driving southeast on Chenal when he allegedly pointed a silver semi-automatic pistol at her head. The police report states the suspect told the woman he would kill her if she did not perform oral sex, adding that this was payback for all of the things "her people had done to his people for centuries". The suspect is described as a black male and was last seen wearing khaki pants and a Walmart t-shirt.
