A Redford man, 44, is charged with murdering and mutilating a 46-year-old woman he lived with, and he's scheduled to be arraigned today in court.

Police on Monday had gone on a wellness check to the apartment shared by Dexter Lamar Williams and Ann Marie Gorup on the 25000 block of 5 Mile and found blood in several rooms, with several female body parts also in the home, according to a news release from the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

Williams was at the apartment, and he was arrested at the scene. He faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of mutilation of a dead body, carrying sentences of life in prison and 10 years in prison, respectively.

Convicted murderer Dexter Lamar Williams will spend up to 80 years in prison after receiving an above-guidelines sentence Tuesday from Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Cameron.

The 45-year-old Redford Township man killed Ann Marie Gorup in their Five Mile Road apartment on Sept. 21, 2015, by strangling and beating her to death. A Wayne County jury convicted Williams of second-degree murder and mutilation of a body earlier this month.
