U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement confirms an accused Austin serial rapist was deported to Mexico five times.

Austin police say Nicodemo Coria-Gonzalez, 27, would take women to a secluded area he called “his garden” to rape and beat them.
One victim was stabbed, another had gasoline poured on her and a 68-year-old woman was kidnapped and raped.

ICE officials say Coria-Gonzalez has been deported five times since September 2012 and has three DWI convictions.

Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Hector Gomez  is tasked with catching fugitive undocumented immigrants. “We focus on those specifically that have a violent criminal history, those that tend to be repetitive violators of the law,” Gomez said.

He says although an undocumented immigrant has previous felony convictions it doesn’t mean they would be on the radar of local or federal authorities until they commit another crime. “It’s our mandate to only go after fugitives who are in fact charged and wanted,” Gomez said.

For those that are, their undocumented status proves challenging. “Mainly because they can use aliases, they are not documented in terms of having a social security number, a license number or any type of credit cards,” said Gomez.

Police caught Coria-Gonzalez in mid-August, but think he may have preyed on as many as 10 different women.

ICE had placed a detainer on Coria-Gonzalez and say as a convicted criminal he is a priority.
