Huntsville police confirm a woman was fatally shot dead at a large crime scene at a home in the 100 block of Morland Pointe Friday evening.

The victim has been identified as 72-year-old Kathleen Lundy.

Police are still searching for the suspect, who is described as armed and dangerous. He has been identified as Warren Hardy.

Officials confirm there was no known relation between Lundy and Hardy.

Hardy is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and 320 pounds. He may be driving a 2015 Lexus ES 350 Sedan or possibly a silver Suzuki XL 7 SUV.

Police said it started as a domestic violence situation between Hardy and his girlfriend. Police said the two were in the Morland Shores neighborhood. The reason they were there is not clear at this time.

Police say his girlfriend left and hardy shot the victim sometime after that. They believe he stole her vehicle to try to pursue the girlfriend.

The president of the Morland Shores Homeowners Association said Lundy was a beloved member of the community and "the glue that held this community together."
