BALTIMORE (WBFF) – Police have arrested a juvenile suspect in the Aug. 18 robbery and sexual assault of two women.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis announced on Friday afternoon that officers had taken 17-year-old Quamontae Johnson into custody and charged him for his role in the incident.

Police previously said that two women who were walking at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Druid Hill Avenue that night at around 8 p.m. were approached by two armed suspects. The suspect then robbed the women and forced them into their car, police said.

After making the women drive away from the scene, they stopped the car in the area of the unit block of N. Norris St, police said. The suspects then allegedly sexually assaulted both of the women.

At a press conference on Friday, Police Commissioner Kevin Davis described Johnson and a second suspect, 18-year-old Levi Bonds, as “despicable.” Davis said Bonds and Johnson passed the gun back and forth during the incident, and that they forced the two women to drive the car because they could not operate the vehicle that had a manual transmission.

Police were able to identify Johnson as a suspect using forensic evidence collected at the scene, Davis said. On Thursday, they arrested Johnson not far from where the robbery and sexual assault unfolded.

Detectives managed to then identify Bonds as a suspect from their interactions with Johnson, Davis said.

Johnson faces charges of armed carjacking, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, two counts apiece of first- and second-degree assault, first- and second-degree rape and numerous other charges amounting to 51 offenses in the case.

Davis said Bonds was the man pictured in surveillance footage at an ATM on the night of the incident. At that time, both women were still with Johnson when Bonds approached the ATM, police said.

“We are currently searching for Levi Bonds and we are asking for the community to step up again and help us,” said Davis at the press conference. “This despicable crime committed by these two criminals, if this doesn’t motivate people to come forward and drop a dime on Levi Bonds, I don’t know what does.”

Bonds is described as a black male who is 5'6" tall, weighs 130 lbs., has brown eyes and brown hair and was last known to be in the West Baltimore area. He is wanted on carjacking, rape and other charges.

"We are anticipating that the weekend should not go by without Levi Bonds being handcuffed and brought to police headquarters," Davis said

Police have asked that anyone with information on Bonds’ whereabouts call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP or call 911.
