A Daytona Beach man who fled the scene after his BMW crashed into a biker, fatally injuring the man after a confrontation with a group of the bikers' fellow motorcyclists, has been arrested.

Moses Leon Richardson IV, 25, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious injury or death and driving without a license causing death or serious injury.

A group of bikers chased Richardson after he disrupted a memorial ride the bikers were having on August 19, police said. Richardson was driving a 2003 BMW north on South Atlantic Ave. on August 19 at high speed with a group of bikers following closely, the report said. Richardson turned left at Goodall Avenue into the path of a motorcycle driven by Craig David Devine, 27, who was headed south on South Atlantic, the report said.

Devine was thrown from the motorcycle and smashed into the BMW’s windshield before he was flung about 50 feet south into the Pizza Hut parking lot where he sprawled on the ground fatally injured. Devine’s motorcycle was shattered and created a huge debris field, the report said.

Richardson then ran from the BMW with a witness chasing him. The witness grabbed Richardson’s leg as he climbed a wooden fence, the report said. Richardson turned and looked at the witness before breaking free and getting away.
