Tuesday, March 29, 2016

A Columbia man accused of a sexual assault last week was arrested at the Boone:p County Courthouse on Monday as he appeared for a hearing in a separate matter.

Shannon M. Glasgow, 25, on Monday was sentenced to three years in prison on each charge of felony resisting arrest, felony leaving the scene of an accident and felony driving while revoked, according to online court records. The three terms will run concurrent to each other.

When he was at the courthouse, Glasgow also was served with a warrant for three misdemeanor charges: first-degree sexual misconduct and two counts of third-degree assault; he was booked into the Boone County Jail at about 7:30 p.m His bond on those charges was set at $40,000, but he is ineligible to be released from custody because of the three-year prison sentence.

Last Tuesday, Glasgow invited two women to his house to have some drinks, according to a probable cause statement. Glasgow allegedly entered the bathroom while one woman was inside and put his genitals on her face, :rolleyes:then followed the woman to a nearby bedroom, pushed her onto a bed and exposed himself a second time.

The woman went outside and told two other people, including the second victim, about the assault. The other woman concealed a tire iron in her sleeve and went inside to grab the first victimís belongings, the statement said. Glasgow allegedly pushed her onto the bed from behind. The woman said she thought Glasgow was going to rape her, according to the statement, so she hit him with the tire iron.

Glasgow allegedly pushed the second woman out of the residence and down an outside stairwell before punching her several times, the statement said. Online court records did not list an attorney for Glasgow in the assault case.
