A 20-year-old man remained in jail Monday after he allegedly shot a woman this month during a robbery at a Greenacres bowling alley.

Police arrested William Edward Wilson, of Greenacres, Thursday in connection with a March 8 shooting at Greenacres Bowl on Lake Worth Road. He was being held at the Palm Beach County Jail Monday in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Wilson is a four-time convicted felon :rolleyes:who had been arrested on theft and narcotics charges two days prior to the shooting, according to a police arrest report made public Monday. He was out of jail following the theft and narcotics arrest after a judge released him on his own recognizance, according to jail records.

The bowling alley shooting resulted in a 32-year-old woman being rushed to Delray Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her leg.

While recovering at the hospital, the woman, who works at the bowling alley, spoke to Greenacres police investigators. She told officers she was answering a customer’s questions prior to closing for the night when Wilson came in and walked directly behind the counter. The customer saw Wilson and ran away, the employee told officers.

The employee asked Wilson if she could help him. He responded by telling her “Give me the money,” police said. The employee refused and told Wilson to leave. Wilson allegedly pushed the woman aside, removed a gun from a bag and fired one shot as he again demanded that she give him money.
