A young woman was abducted at gunpoint and then sexually assaulted in Tuscaloosa, and now authorities are asking for the public's help identifying the assailant.

The attack happened Wednesday, March 16, at 10 p.m. Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Lt. Kip Hart said the 20-year-old woman was sitting in her car in the 4500 block of 18th Avenue East. When she got out of her car, a man pointed a gun at her, forced her back into the car and drove off.

While holding her at gunpoint, he drove her to different locations and sexually assaulted her. The suspect then left the victim at an undisclosed location in east Tuscaloosa and abandoned her car near the original kidnapping scene, Hart said.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 25. He is between 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 5-feet, 10-inches tall, weighing between 140 to 160 pounds. He possibly has a dark complexion, and has a tattoo on his hand. He was last seen wearing a dark ball cap, dark hoodie and blue jeans.
