JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Jacksonville woman is charged with killing her boyfriend, who had been reported missing by his wife back in May.

Ronald Trotter Jr., 48, was last seen May 25. His decomposed body was found about three weeks later. Detectives say the autopsy revealed Trotter had been shot in the chest.

It was affair that ended in murder, according to the Jacksonville police officers between Trotter, and his 41-year-old girlfriend, Tammy Connor. Police say Conner tried to conceal Trotter’s decomposing body, on the front porch of her home. However after three weeks, neighbors noticed an awful smell, and called animal control officers. :barf4:

Woman pleads guilty in boyfriend's 2013 death

A Gary woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to voluntary manslaughter and battery by means of a deadly weapon in exchange for a 15-year prison sentence.

Santrina Nicole Echols, 43, admitted in court that she suffocated her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Clester Sims, and that she battered his new girlfriend with a "blackjack" at a motorcycle club house a couple of weeks before Sims was killed.

Sims, 37, who had been convicted on June 4, 2013, of misdemeanor battery involving Echols as the victim, had arrived at Echols' home in the 1400 block of West 16th Avenue in Gary in the early morning hours of July 13, 2013. Echols was aware that Sims had started a new relationship and that he had spent July 12 into July 13, 2013, with the other woman.

When police and coroner's personnel arrived at Echols' home, they found Sims face down across a bed with a telephone cord piled loosely near his right hip. An autopsy at the Lake County coroner's office determined Sims was smothered and strangled.
