A former Rikers Island correction officer who was convicted of beating an inmate so badly in 2009 that he lost vision in one of his eyes was given 90 days in jail on Wednesday.

The sentence for Victor Rodman, 53, will be served on the weekends. He must also do 250 hours of community service, according to the Bronx District Attorney’s office.

In October, he had been found guilty of Falsifying Business Records in the 1st Degree and misdemeanor assault after he pummeled inmate Carlos Sanchez inside a Rikers vestibule.

Him and Michelle Hubert, a 47-year-old former guard who helped cover up the brutal beat-down, were both facing up to four years in prison for charges related to the assault, but their sentences were ultimately cut short by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Martin Marcus, officials said.

A week before sentencing Rodman, Marcus let Hubert off the hook and granted her a three-year- conditional discharge and 200 hours of community service.

She had been convicted of Falsifying Business Records in the 1st Degree, officials said.

Sanchez had been awaiting trial for a 2007 murder at a bar in Queens at the time of his assault.
