6:16 p.m. CST December 2, 2015

Prosecutors say a former Trousdale County football star lied :rolleyes:about claiming he was the driver in a 2013 Wilson County crash that killed one woman in the vehicle, and the state has charged another suspect with driving.

Tacola Seay, 23, was indicted in May 2013 on charges that included vehicular homicide by intoxication and vehicular homicide by recklessness for the February 2013 wreck that killed Megan C. Carter, 26.

Both vehicular homicide charges have been dismissed, but Seay is now charged with three counts of filing a false report, according to the assistant district attorney’s office of the 15th Judicial District.

Seay, a linebacker and running back when he played for Trousdale County, was a Mr. Football :pfinalist as one of the state's top players in 2009.

Wright’s case is set for trial Feb. 3-5. Wright, who was first charged with DUI by allowance.and vehicular homicide by intoxication, has been in jail since August because his bond was revoked for not meeting court-imposed bond restrictions, the district attorney’s office said.

Marco Wright, 26, who allegedly was in the car at the time of the crash according to initial reports, is now charged as the driver in the case.
