Police ID 1 of the suspects in fatal Livermore shooting



LIVERMORE, Calif. (KGO) --
Police have identified one of two suspects in a fatal shooting at the Livermore Arcade Shopping Center on First Street Saturday night.

Police tell ABC7 News that two adult males in their 20s were shot inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of the busy shopping center anchored by a Safeway grocery store. One of the victims has died and the other went into surgery.

The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Oakland resident Jason Alexander Brown. Police have have obtained a no bail warrant for his arrest on one count of murder and another count of attempted murder.

The driver, who has not been identified, was deceased at the scene. The front passenger suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital. The front passenger has also not been identified and the passenger's condition is unknown.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Brown's home but found he was not at home. Police say he is still at large and considered armed and dangerous.

The identity of the second suspect is still unknown. Police say the two were armed with an assault rifle.

"These types of incidents don't happen in Livermore. :rolleyes:It sounds like these two were the intended target," a detective said.

Oakland Motel Standoff Ends With Homicide Suspect Dead From Apparent Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

OAKLAND (CBS SF) ó A suspect in several recent murders is reportedly dead from a self-inflicted gunshot :pwound after he was involved in a standoff with police at an Oakland motel.

According to authorities, the standoff began Thursday afternoon at the Motel 6 on Edes Avenue near Hegenberger Road in East Oakland.

Police say the man who barricaded himself in the motel room is 18-year-old Jason Brown, who they considered armed and dangerous.

As police made contact with Brown, multiple gunshots erupted from the suspectís location inside the motel room. He was later found unresponsive suffering from what was likely a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

He was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency medical personnel. No police officers discharged their firearms during this incident.

Brown is among two people suspected of opening fire on two men sitting in a car outside a CVS store in Livermore last month. One man was killed, while the other was hospitalized.

The 18-year-old was also wanted for a separate murder in Fresno.
