A 20-year-old man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Springfield man earlier this month was located and arrested Friday night by Springfield police.

Darion T. Harris, of the 6500 block of Cherylwood Drive, is accused of first-degree murder in the death of William F. Dougherty, 33.

Harris is one of two people accused in the death of Dougherty, who was shot at his home in the 1100 block of North Fourth Street on Oct. 14 and died the following day after surgery at HSHS St. John's Hospital.

Authorities issued arrest warrants Oct. 20 for Harris and Warren M. Price, 25, of the 2700 block of East Jackson Street. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Price without incident the same day at his attorney's office.

The warrants accuse both men of first-degree murder, home invasion and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Harris is also accused of armed robbery, police said.

Before he was taken to the hospital, Dougherty told police that two men forcefully entered his home and began wrestling with him. He said both men were armed with guns, and during the tussle, at least one shot was fired, striking him.
