Chicago police are searching for three suspects wanted for the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in the Roseland neighborhood.

Police say the victim was walking home in the 11300-block of South State Street on Oct. 20 when three men approached her. The victim told police that two of the men distracted her while the third crept up from behind and struck her in the head with a hard object. Police say the girl was then taken to a nearby abandoned house and sexually assaulted.

Nearby residents said there are always kids walking in the area because there are a couple day care centers and a CPS school nearby.

"It's very alarming because we've got kids here. Grandkids, little kids. And by us having these vacant houses, it's more alarming. You can see two blank here, one here, there. Then the building down the street. Then it's a couple of more," said Joanne White, a Roseland resident.

"This is disgusting. You have to come up, hit this young lady from behind. It's cowardly, and sexually assault her," said Andrew Holmes, a community activist.

Police described the offenders as three African American men in their 20s. The first suspect is between 5 ft. 8 in. and 6 ft. tall with a small build, light complexion and a black ponytail, who was wearing a black Nike jacket and black Rock pants; the second suspect is about 6 ft. tall with a medium build, dark complexion and corn rows, who was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and black Air Force One shoes; and the third suspect is between 5 ft. 5 in. and 5 ft. 7 in. tall with a heavy build, dark complexion and black dreadlocks.
